Microsoft is not leaving out its faithful Xbox owners after Sony's strong PS Plus free games lineup, as its own Xbox Games With Gold subscription service also comes in with a considerable February lineup.
It is worth noting that these free games for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 will only be available for members of the subscription service. For those still interested in joining, the 12-month program is only worth $59.99, while three months is worth $24.99. For those who only want one month of free games, a fee of $9.99 is available.
One of the most notable free games in the lineup is "Shadow Warrior" for the Xbox One. The first-person shooter (FPS) is essentially a reboot of the 1997 game of the same name, and it sees players stepping in the shoes of a powerful gun-wielding ninja that fights hordes of monsters. The "Shadow Warrior" reboot was first released on 2013, and it let players use a wide variety of weapons including katanas and guns, as well as ninjutsu, in order to defeat demons.
For the Xbox One as well, "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India" will be available starting Feb. 16. The said "Assassin's Creed" game set in India is a 2.5D action-adventure game which lets players control an elite member of the Assassin brotherhood named Embody Arbaaz in his quest for retribution in the mystical country.
For those who own only an Xbox 360, "Split/Second" will be available for free until Feb. 15 and will let players race to their heart's content in whatever car the game allows. "Split/Second," first released in 2010 is basically a racing game created for an in-game reality show where the whole track is rigged to explode and players must race for their lives while making sure their opponents do not survive.
"Crazy Taxi" is also available for the Xbox 360 on Feb. 16 and will let players experience the hustle and bustle of being a taxi driver, albeit exaggerated. Players will have to race time in order to come out as the craziest cabby in order to gain the most money in-game.
All these will be available to Xbox Games With Gold members.
