Earlier this year, the season 2 finale of "Wayward Pines" ended on a hopeful note as some of the town's selected residents locked themselves inside the pod chamber to sleep as long as they can until they can step out into an Abby-less world. The final shot of the season ender showed an Abby holding what appeared to be a human baby, and it looked like years of evolution caused the monsters to look more like human beings.

Now, fans are waiting to see what happens to the townspeople in season 3, but it looks like the show might be delayed as author Blake Crouch, as well as show creator Chad Hodge, have turned their focus on a new show.

Crouch, who wrote the novel that the FOX show is based on and served as executive producer of the series, is now working with Hodge on the TNT show "Good Behavior."

The new show stars "Downton Abbey" actress Michelle Dockery as a thief and con artist, and Crouch also wrote the novella series which the show is based on. Meanwhile, Hodge serves as the executive producer of the new series.

In an interview with Out, Hodge said that he and Crouch enjoyed working on together on "Wayward Pines" and they wanted to do something else.

"He sent me these three novellas about this woman, Letty Dobesh," said Hodge. "The character of Letty really jumped off the page at me, and I sort of saw who this woman could be and who she was, the woman that Blake created."

On what makes the two shows different from one another, Hodge said, "'Wayward Pines' is a story-driven piece of writing and television show, 'Good Behavior' is much more of a character driven piece."

"Good Behavior" has just aired its first two episodes and is set to run for 10 episodes for its freshman season. Though FOX has yet to announce an official season 3 renewal for "Wayward Pines," it's likely that the show will be delayed as Crouch works on the TNT series. The author wrote the script for the new series' premiere and fourth episodes, and it has yet to be revealed whether Crouch will be writing more episodes for the new drama.

Stay tuned for more news about "Wayward Pines" season 3.
