Video of Newborn Baby Having Her Hair Shampooed and Brushed Draws Over 20 Million Views: Why?

More than 24 million people have watched a little baby having her first hair wash.

Why would this baby video posted on social media draw so much attention?

The answer is the extraordinary way newborn Amira Yvonne Glenn reacted when her hair was shampooed by a nurse for the first time.

For most infants, bath time can be a struggle, according to the Daily Mail. But not for baby Amira, who was born in a hospital in Dayton, Ohio on Sunday.

The two-minute video shows Amira wrapped in a towel and smiling as the nurse shampoos, rinses and then brushes her hair.

While the nurse is working on her, Amira gently moves her fingers backwards and forwards, blinking slowly.

When the nurse pours water over her head, she smiles, prompting the nurse to say, "She's loving it."

She then closes her eyes as the nurse brushes her long hair into a mohawk. Amira keeps her body still while opening and closing her mouth, sticking out her tongue, and smiling.

Amara's 20-year-old father Taveon Glenn shared his baby's video with his 21-year-old fiancée Sierra Still on Facebook where it has since attracted more than 24 million views.

Taveon said he became emotional when he saw the video. "I was crying. She is my first baby and she was looking all cute," he told Dayton.com.

"People are saying it's positive, and people are saying they haven't seen anything positive in a while," he added.

Tens of thousands of Facebook users have commented on the video, with some saying it's the "cutest thing"' they have ever seen.

Shawnee Lockyer wrote: "This is literally the cutest thing I have ever seen."

Amanda Olivia tagged a friend in the post, writing: "I want one."

The tagged friend, Andrea Duarte, responded: "Please.. giving them a bath at that age is a nightmare."
