This year, "The Real Housewives of Orange County" featured one of its most shocking storylines to date.
In the recently concluded 10th season of the show, Shannon Beador, Meghan Edmonds and Tamra Judge expressed their doubts about Brooks Ayers's cancer claims after they found evidence that appeared to confirm that he was faking his cancer. Vicki Gunvalson stood by Ayers while the ladies continued to doubt him, but recently, she said that she too was deceived be her ex's claims.
In an interview with Andy Cohen on Monday's "Watch What Happens Live," Vicki said that it's now clear to her that Brooks was faking his cancer all along.
"It's very clear that he doesn't have cancer if he's forged documents," she said to Cohen. "It's very clear because why would he show fake documents if he has cancer? It doesn't make sense."
Earlier this month during an interview, Brooks showed an E! News reporter some documents from his alleged cancer treatments, including a bill from City of Hope hospital. Upon investigation, the website found out that the documents were faked and that he never received treatment at the medical center, and soon after Brooks admitted in a statement that he faked the documents.
"He has not shown me anything that says he has cancer. He hasn't shown me anything that says he doesn't have cancer. I don't have anything," Vicki explained.
The 53-year-old told Cohen that there were a few "red flags" that should have alerted her to the fact that Brooks was lying about his condition. She said that Brooks told her that his doctor wanted him to do two more rounds of chemotherapy after two sessions, which allegedly yielded good results. Instead, the businessman opted to switch to holistic therapy.
Vicki also recalled a conversation where Brooks told her to "Stay out of it" when she mentioned his doctor's advice to have more chemo treatments, and moreover, she revealed that he was unwilling to show her his medical records.
Vicki and Brooks were still together while the show was filming its 10th season, but this August, the two ended their relationship for unknown reasons.
The reality star said that she will forever be asking why Brooks did this to her and if he lied about his condition to make people like him.
"Just be a good person and people will like you. You don't have to fake cancer," she said.
