In the next episode of "This Is Us," Randall Pearson (Sterling K. Brown) and his wife Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) deal with a troubled youth who is also a potential adoptee.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Highs and Lows" showed Beth telling Randall that a potential female adoptee will be coming over to their house and meet with them. The young girl arrives at the house and gets acquainted with the couple. However, when Beth touches one of the kid's belongings, the girl suddenly becomes angry and gets into a scuffle with Beth.

"Those are mine. Give it back you b---!" the uptight girl warns Beth. Soon, Randall enters the room and breaks them apart to avoid more trouble. Beth appears apologetic and surprised. She is apparently not used to that kind of juvenile behavior.

In the last episode, Beth and Randall argued over whether or not they should continue with their adoption of a troubled child. The husband felt worried that a young kid with problems might be too much for him to handle and might pose a threat to their family's safety.

On the other hand, Beth was confident that Randall would be able to deal with a troubled kid because he was strong-minded. She reminded her husband that he was a decisive and strong-willed man, and that he would be able to handle a child with issues.

It remains to be seen how the couple will respond to their first heated interaction with the angry child and if they will adopt her.

Randall initially wanted to adopt a baby as a symbolic gesture of how he was taken in when he was an infant. However, Beth managed to convince him to take on a more noble challenge and adopt an older child instead.

"This is Us" season 2 episode 3 will air on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.
