The best roleplaying game (RPG) of 2015 is about to get a makeover from the world's most powerful console, as "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's" improvements for the Xbox One X have been detailed.

CD Projekt Red, the developer of the acclaimed RPG, has just revealed the details of the Xbox One X version of the game. "The Witcher 3" will now run out-of-the-box in Xbox One X with a stunning resolution of 3840x2160 or 4K resolution, though it is not clear whether it will be native 4K. In addition to the increased pixels, shadows, ambient occlusion, and texture filtering have been improved as much as the new console will allow.

To complement the 4K resolution of the game, higher-resolution textures are also being introduced. On top of all this, the game will be receiving a performance boost. Gamers with no 4K television for the game's resolution need not worry, as the supersampling feature has also been included in the new version, meaning they will be able to play "Witcher 3" in 4K using lower-resolution TV's, albeit with no changes to screen size, only to pixel count and density.

Jakub Kutrzuba, development lead of the game for Xbox One X, stated, "Beautiful visuals are one of 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's' standout features, breathing life into the game's open-world full of places to see, secrets to uncover, and adventures to embark on. When enhancing the game for Xbox One X, we wanted to use the additional power of the console to deliver an even more visually stunning experience."

It is worth noting that back in 2015, when the game was first released, it was considered one of the most visually-stunning games available, pushing gaming hardware to their limits. Now, with the advent of Xbox One X, fans and owners of the new console can expect even better graphics.

Whether these enhancements are present in or identical to the ones in Xbox One X's competition, the PlayStation 4 (PS4) Pro, remains to be seen. The Xbox One X will be released on Nov. 7.
