Christian Cuevas is definitely not just a Christian in name but also in spirit.

As one of the semifinalists in "The Voice" last week, Cuevas belted out a powerful rendition of the gospel song "To Worship You I Live" by Israel and New Breed, according to CBN News.

Proudly expressing his faith on the hit NBC show, Cuevas sang his heart out, touching his audience, including the judges, with many people even lifting their hands in worship. One of the judges, Alicia Keys, even sang right along with him from her chair.

After singing the last line from the song, Cuevas was so overcome with emotion that tears started flowing from his eyes.

His cover of the worship song immediately soared to the top 10 overall. Moreover, the video of his performance that was uploaded on YouTube has attracted more than 2.5 million views as of Monday.

Commentators were all praise for Cuevas for choosing the gospel song for his semifinals stint in the national singing competition.

"His was beautiful, because of his willingness to proclaim his faith unto a generation that wants nothing to do with sanctification. Great job Christian," one fan said.

"He wasn't up there performing, but worshiping! This was beautiful," another fan said.

Even people who don't consider themselves religious and don't go to church were touched by the message of the song and the way Cuevas sang it.

"I'm not too religious but I believe in God. It was cool seeing people in the audience that weren't part of the performance singing and lifting their hands in worship," one commentator said.

Despite the accolades, Christian failed to make it to the finals as he bid "The Voice" goodbye, brimming with gratitude to the show for allowing him to sing his faith and share God's message to millions of viewers not only in America but overseas as well.

"So glad that I was able to share God with y'all," he tweeted after the show.
