The battle to get rid of the siren who keeps on controlling Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo's (Michael Malarkey) minds will level up in the next episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.

According to the synopsis for the episode, titled "An Eternity of Misery," Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Alaric (Matt Davis) will work together to find out more about the siren named Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) so that they will know how to take her down and rescue Damon and Enzo once and for all.

But can the two manage to get their work done before Damon causes more trouble under the influence of Sybil? In the upcoming episode, the siren will send out Damon to travel all the way to Texas to find the mysterious artifact that might be holding a huge secret.

Damon is reportedly determined to hand over the artifact to Sybil. According to the synopsis for the episode, the older Salvatore's quest will end in a violent altercation with Peter Maxwell (Joel Gretsch). Yet meeting Peter will reportedly end up in a shocking revelation.

The synopsis for the episode was posted on Melty. It reads: "Tasked with finding a mysterious artifact, Damon's latest mission takes him to Texas where a violent run-in with Peter Maxwell leads to a surprising revelation. Meanwhile, after gaining the upper hand in their fight to save Damon and Enzo, Stefan and Alaric team up and uncover the origins of the mysterious force they're up against. Finally, Matt returns to the fray after his past and present collide in an unexpected way."

Meanwhile, executive producer Julie Plec told Digital Spy in an interview that she is still working to get Nina Dobrev back in the show for the series finale of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. According to Plec, Dobrev's character, Elena, is the "centerpiece" of the show, and she would really be disappointed if the series ends without her.

But while she claimed that, she also prepared a backup plan to end the series without Elena, but she is still hoping that she will never have to use it.

The next episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 is slated to air on Friday, Nov. 11.
