"The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" will have a crossover next month, and the first teaser trailer for the upcoming episode has been released by The CW.

The promo opens with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) smirking and the Mikaelson brothers are seen waiting for him and his brother. "Here they come," says Klaus (Joseph Morgan).

Elijah (Daniel Gillies) is talking on the phone and says, "I don't play well with others." On the other line, Stefan (Paul Wesley) tells him not to worry.

At a bar, Klaus pushes a shot glass full of liquor toward Stefan.

"Welcome to New Orleans, old friend," says Klaus.

Back in season 4 of "The Vampire Diaries," Klaus left season 4 and moved to New Orleans. When he and Stefan meet up for drinks, talk will eventually turn to Caroline (Candice King) and it's bound to be an awkward conversation as she used to be involved with Klaus. Now, Caroline is in a relationship with Stefan.

Speaking about the crossover, executive producer Caroline Dries told TV Line that when the two meet for drinks, the New Orleans-based vampire will act "in a very Klaus-like way."

"We knew we wanted to see Joseph and Paul Wesley together on screen; they've had the longest history on the shows, apart from Elijah and Katherine," Dries said. "Now, they have some interesting conversation over some bourbon."

Apart from their ties with Caroline, the two also shared a history dating back to the 1920s, and in the past, Klaus killed the woman Stefan loved.

It was previously reported that Stefan will be going to New Orleans as he needs protection against magic, and there is a place there that will keep him away from harm.

Dries explained that Stefan is forced into exile in New Orleans and once there, he's going to run into his mortal enemy. The producer said that it's the crossover is a "fun, rich, interesting story" that stars on "The Vampire Diaries" and transitions into "The Originals."

"The Vampire Diaries" airs at 8 p.m. and "The Originals" follows at 9 p.m., Fridays on The CW.
