Earlier this year, NeNe Leakes announced that she would not be returning to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." The star had been with the Bravo series since its first season, and fans took to social media saying that they would miss NeNe's witty catch phrases and interactions with the other ladies. But now, new reports claim that the star is about to make a big return to the show and that she'll be surprising the other Housewives.

According to TMZ, NeNe surprised the cast when she showed up at their retreat in Jamaica. Sources told the website that none of the ladies knew that she was coming back and that her return left some of the ladies lost for words.

The website's insiders said that producers got in touch with NeNe earlier this month and asked her to come back because the storylines lacked excitement this season. The reality star reportedly agreed to return because Bravo made her a good offer and because filming did not affect her shooting schedule for her new game show, "To Tell the Truth." TMZ's sources said that NeNe's episodes will air towards the end of season 8.

Lately, the star has been busy with different projects after she announced that she was leaving the Bravo franchise. Aside from being in "To Tell the Truth" as a panelist alongside Betty White, NeNe is set to return to Broadway as she will be playing Mama Morton in the hit musical "Chicago" from Nov. 23 to Dec. 20 at the Ambassador Theater. This will be her second stint in Broadway; she made her debut as the wicked stepmother in last year's "Cinderella."

When NeNe returns to "RHOA," she will be reunited with Cynthia Bailey, Phaedra Parks, Porsha Williams, Kandi Burruss and Kenya Moore, as well as returning Housewife Sheree Whitfield. She will also get to meet new cast member Kim Fields.

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" season 8 premieres Sunday, Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
