It seems like the vampires from Mystic Falls will drop a visit to New Orleans in the fourth season of "The Originals."

Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Matt Davis' character, Alaric Saltzman, will appear in an episode of "The Originals" season 4. According to the report, Alaric will bring a dark artifact to New Orleans and hand it over to Elijah Mikaelson (Daniel Gillies).

But Alaric may not be the only one who will leave Mystic Falls, Virginia since speculations claim that the mother of his twins, Caroline Forbes, (Candice King) will follow him to New Orleans so that she can be reunited with Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan).

However, the producers of the supernatural drama series have yet to confirm the speculations since Caroline is currently engaged with Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) in the eighth and final season of "The Vampire Diaries." If the speculations are true, it could mean that the wedding between Caroline and Stefan will not happen.

Aside from the crossover, the plot for "The Originals" season 4 remains under wraps. However, rumors claim that the upcoming season will feature a struggling time for the Mikaelsons since most of them are in danger because of the arrival of one of the family's biggest enemies.

TVLine also revealed that the next season of "The Originals" will show that Klaus and Hayley Marshall's (Phoebe Tonkin) daughter, Hope, is a little older. She might be the key to saving Klaus from Marcel Gerard's (Charles Michael Davis) clutches and track down seven werewolf packs so she can save her family from their enemies.

Hope will be portrayed by "Basic Witches" child star, Summer Fontana, when the series returns for season 4.

The fate of "The Originals" after season 4 is also in question after The CW decided to decrease the number of episodes of the upcoming season to 13 instead of the 22 episodes that viewers were used to. But there is no confirmation yet regarding the possible cancellation of the show.

"The Original" season 4 is slated to air on Friday, March 17, 2017, on The CW.
