In the next episode of "The Middle," Frankie Heck (Patricia Heaton) takes care of her mom Pat (Marsha Mason) after she comes down with an ailment.

The synopsis and promotional pictures for the upcoming installment titled "The Setup" were just released recently and showed Pat resting on the sofa in her daughter's living room because of a sickness. She is covered with a blanket while she watches television. Frankie decides to move her mother to the bedroom so that she can rest better. Frankie's son Axl (Charlie McDermott) comes in the room to greet his grandma who is very pleased to see him. Her husband Mike (Neil Flynn) also lends his support to his ailing mother-in-law. Everything seems to be going Pat's way as her daughter is at her beck-and-call, and Frankie even takes down notes on what she needs. It remains to be seen how long Frankie can keep up her generosity towards her mom.

Meanwhile, as Sean Donahue (Beau Wirick) is about to ask Sue (Eden Sher) on a date, she suddenly blurts out that they should try setting each other up with dates and go out together. This takes Donahue by surprise because he is interested in Sue and wants to go out with her. It remains to be seen if they will proceed with Sue's plan or not.

In the last episode, Mike asked Sue to take care of the 25th wedding anniversary plans which she obliged. However, later on she realized that everyone seemed to take advantage of her goodwill and generosity therefore she decided to not handle any more plans. This caused Mike to be in trouble with Frankie who wanted to have a great wedding anniversary event.

"The Middle" season 9 episode 6 will hit the airwaves on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
