The sophomore season of "The Good Fight" will be longer compared to the spin-off show's first season.

TVGuide reported that CBS All Access ordered a 13-episode run for the season 2 of the legal drama spin-off of the critically acclaimed "The Good Wife" series. This means that the new season will be three episodes longer than the last, which only had 10 episodes.

With 13 episodes this season, "The Good Fight" will now be equal to other original series of the subscription-based video-on-demand service provider, including the delayed "Star Trek: Discovery" which has yet to premiere.

Meanwhile, a separate report from the same publication revealed that series co-creators Robert and Michelle King want to see more "The Good Wife" alum in the second season of the spin-off series.

According to the report, one of the very first characters that they want to bring back in season 2 is Alan Cumming's character Eli Gold, who happened to be the father of Diane Lockhart's (Christine Baranski) secretary, Marissa Gold (Sarah Steele).

At the end of the season 1 finale, Marissa said that she would like to apply to become an investigator at Reddick, Boseman & Kolstad, which could be a good venue to bring back Eli into the story since it would be interesting to know his thoughts about his daughter's career plans.

Michelle King also said in the interview that "it might be fun to see what Marissa Gold's father is doing these days, particularly in this political atmosphere."

If Cumming will agree to appear in the spin-off, he will join several "The Good Wife" stars like Matthew Perry, Carrie Preston, Christine Lahti, and Jerry Adler who dropped by the spin-off's first season.

While the plot for the series remains under wraps, CBS All Access is slated to air the second season of "The Good Fight" in 2018.
