In the next episode of "The Gifted," Reed Strucker (Stephen Moyer) visits his estranged father Otto (Raymond J. Barry) to uncover some clues about his children's powers.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "threat of eXtinction," was released just recently and showed Reed telling Thunderbird (Blair Redford) that they need to see his father. They head directly to his location as carefully as they can so as to avoid detection. Reed then enters the door to an antique store and sees the old man seated at the counter. "Dad, my kids are being hunted by Sentinel Services," he tells Otto with concern. Reed also informs him of the amazing powers of his children. Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) is able to create force fields while Andy (Percy Hynes White) is capable of blasting anything in his way with his telekinetic abilities.

Otto then reveals to his son, "My father and his sister had the same abilities as your children. They were more powerful than you can imagine." Reed is caught in disbelief that powers in his family line go way back. Otto further expresses, "Protect them son. Protect the world from them." His father apparently feels that Lauren and Andy might actually be a threat to society. It remains to be seen what else Reed will discover about his family's powers and how they can be useful to them.

In the last episode, Reed discovered that Lauren's friend Wes (Danny Ramirez) had a criminal background and did not disclose it to the Mutant Underground. Reed confronted him about it which prompted the boy to confess his past to the leaders. Lauren was relieved that Wes came clean with everyone and appreciated him for it.

"The Gifted" season 1 episode 8 will air on Monday, Nov. 20 at 10 p.m. EST on Fox.
