Clarke Griffin will be sporting a new look when "The 100" returns for its third season. To give fans a preview of what's to come in season 3, executive producer and show creator Jason Rothenberg took to Twitter last month to post a picture of Clarke (Eliza Taylor) looking like a true Grounder with her hair in braids and a painted on mask across her eyes.

Rothenberg tweeted, "Sneak peek of Clarke in Season 3. You guys aren't ready. 2016 isn't THAT far away."

The last time viewers saw Clarke, she was walking away from Bellamy (Bob Morley) and her people after they won a battle. But her actions seem to be due to the fact that Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey) left Clarke and the Sky People to fight the Mountain Men themselves. It can be recalled that the two appeared to have a romantic connection as they shared a kiss back in season 2.

Is a love triangle in the works for season 3? After season 2 aired, fans took to social media and some thought that Clarke should be with Lexa, while others chose Bellamy to be Clarke's love interest in season 3. When asked who Clarke would end up with in the new season, producer Aaron Ginsburg told NYCastings that though they love their fans and they feel that there's genuine chemistry between certain pairs of actors, they focus on the story and that they don't make decisions based on what fans might think is best.

"We have a story we want to tell with these characters…We don't make decisions based on what fans might want," Ginsburg said. "We make decisions based on what is best for the story."

Ginsburg also revealed that filming for the new season is underway and that they will be filming episode 8 sometime this month. And while fans feared that Debnam-Carey won't be returning to the series after she was cast on "The Walking Dead," the producer confirmed that the actress will be back in season 3.

"The 100" returns to The CW in 2016.
