Things heat up on the next episode of "Switched at Birth" season 4.

"Switched at Birth" season 4, episode 18, titled "The Accommodations of Desire," features Bay (Vanessa Marano) happily gearing up for a new relationship with her new suitor who takes his shirt off and kisses her.

Daphne (Katie Leclerc), however, struggles as her love woes pile up, when her exchange of letters with a guy she met on a volunteer trip to Mexico puts a strain on her relationship with Mingo (Adam Hagenbuch).

In an interview with Talk Nerdy With Us, Marano spoke about the troubles that her character gets into in season 4, saying that it is essential for her role's story. She said that Bay is in a lot of trouble to begin with; she did a lot of things for other people in the past, and she's now ready to focus on herself. Marano narrated, "She wanted to move to California for Emmett (Sean Berdy), she took the fall for Daphne. This season is like her taking back her life and doing things for her."

Marano also talked about her relationship with Emmett, something that she described as dysfunctional. She said that Emmett's deafness is not what make things complicated between them, that fans actually love the fact that they got together despite such.

"That's beautiful and romantic. But when they're actually together they just end up hurting each other which is terrible," she shared in the same interview.

"Switched at Birth" follows the story of two teenage girls who find out that they have been accidentally swapped as babies in the hospital. Bay found herself in the company of a rich family, living with two parents and a brother. Daphne, on the other hand, became deaf as a child and grew up with a single mother in a working class neighborhood. Things get complicated as the two families come together and find a way to coexist harmoniously for the benefit of the girls.

"Switched at Birth" season 4 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC Family.
