'Switched at Birth' season 4 spoilers: An unexpected pregnancy will be reveailed

Switched at Birth ABC

In the summer premiere of "Switched at Birth," fans of the ABC Family show will get to see Bay as she copes with heartbreak, and Daphne as she deals with some speculation. Later on in the season, an unexpected pregnancy will be revealed.

Bay is haunted by her breakup with Emmett and struggles to find out where and how their relationship fell apart. When the show returns, it will be revealed whether she has chosen to move forward with her life a little since she had done everything that she could for that relationship, or if she will make another move to get back together with Emmett.

Daphne is excited about her new relationship with Mingo, but this is hampered by her friends' opinion of him. Could there be something about Mingo's past that makes Daphne's friends think that he's not the right guy for her?

Meanwhile, Kathryn is trying to keep her spirits up as she keeps everyone moving with a light touch. In an E! news interview with Lea Thompson, the actress said that Kathryn will move forward with her musical, but she's also going to be hit with a lot of drama. She revealed that John and Kathryn are also going to have some financial problems, and although they're used to dealing with problems that come their way, this time, this will be really hard on them.

Show creator Lizzy Weizz has been posting about season 4 on her Twitter account, and from her Aug. 4 tweet, she confirmed that "tissues will be needed" for the premiere. Weiss has also revealed that they have finished filming season 4 and that people will have very strong feelings about the finale.

"The very last scene of the season that we are shooting will make a lot of people mad. And a lot of people happy," she tweeted on July 10.

It remains to be seen whether the finale will involve a big shocker, which is an unexpected pregnancy, but as no clues have been revealed as to who will be expecting a baby, it's anyone's guess at this point.

"Switched at Birth" returns on Monday, Aug. 24, at 8/7c on ABC Family.
