The 11th season of "Supernatural" is coming to The CW in less than a month, and in a new teaser trailer, fans get a glimpse of the season's big bad — The Darkness — as the Winchester brothers try to figure out how to defeat it.

The trailer begins with Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) in their Impala looking horrified as The Darkness takes over the land.

"If you can hear me, God, we need your help," Sam says. "This is my fault, and I don't know if I can fix it."

Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) also appears to have survived Castiel's (Misha Collins) attack from last season as he is seen talking to the brothers about their biggest foe.

"It's old … deep … dark. Darkness," Crowley intones. "Terrible name, by the way."

Glimpses of Castiel and Sam being tortured are also seen in the trailer, and Castiel appears to be suffering from the after-effects of Rowena's spell from last season, which caused him to attack Crowley.

Fans can look forward to Dean and Sam uniting against a common enemy this season, as showrunner Jeremy Carver told E! Online that the new season's big bad will tell "a pre-biblical story that's never been told."

"I think the brothers are going to be united in their need to take this thing down," said Carver.

It was reported earlier this year that the brothers will go on a quest to find out more about The Darkness, as it's a very old kind of evil that no one knows about.

Meanwhile, Carver told TVLine what Castiel will be facing this season, and it looks like he will be struggling under the influence of Rowena's spell throughout season 11.

"Castiel, first and foremost, has to find a way out of this spell that Rowena has cast on him. That's not as easy as it may sound. Being under the influence of this spell, it's going to lead him to some pretty uncomfortable situations," said Carver.

"Supernaturals" season 11 premieres on Oct. 7 at 9/8c on The CW.
