The fight for the next head of the Pearson Specter Litt law firm will begin in season 7 of "Suits" on USA Network.

During the previous season, Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) showed her firm desire to leave her post as the managing partner of the law firm in New York to follow Jeff Malone (D.B. Woodside) in Chicago.

According to reports, with Jessica gone, Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) must fight among themselves who will lead the firm from now on.

In the previous season, Harvey already made it known that he intends to take over the job, and Louis seemed to have no objections with that. But since the two have a long history of rivalry, it can be expected that Louis will change his mind and try to outsmart Harvey for the post in season 7.

But in an interview with Deadline, series creator Aaron Korsh revealed that the conflict between the long-standing rivals will not be about who will lead the law firm; instead, Harvey and Louis might end up disagreeing because of the former's way of handling the office.

He also said that Harvey will still have to get used to being the top decision maker in the firm. "It's a new role. Harvey has always been a freestyler, he's been number 2. He's always had Jessica and the ultimate responsibility of running the firm and keeping it together, which gave Harvey a lot of freedom to behave a certain way. He could be a gunslinger and do wild things because Jessica was always there to rein him in and pick up the slack," the series creator stated. "Now he's in that other position, and that's going to have consequences for him."

Korsh also mentioned that there could still be a chance to see Jessica drop by the New York office in season 7.

USA Network is expected to air the premiere episode of "Suits" season 7 on July 12.
