'Suits' cast news, update: Meghan Markle, Patrick J. Adams to exit legal drama series?

Meghan Markle in "Suits" USA Network

Recent rumors say that USA series "Suits" will not include Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle, who play Mike Ross and Rachel Zane, respectively, for the eighth season of the legal drama series.

A US Weekly source confirmed that the two actors, who had been regulars since the start of the series in 2011, were heading out the door. "Patrick wants to pursue other things and he's realized his time at 'Suits' has come to an end," the insider revealed.

The Hollywood Reporter meanwhile revealed that although Adams had been in talks about his contract for a while, he is now heading for the exit in "Suits," which had landed him with a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. That said, his leaving is reportedly not the end of his appearance in the show, as he could always come back as a guest.

According to reports, Adams' exit is likely due to his recent marriage. Apparently, he is now more than ready to explore other career paths.

Meanwhile, Markle was also reported to be leaning towards the same path, which is to leave the show. For the past months, Markle has been in a relationship with UK's Prince Harry, which made people assume that her leaving has to do with her relationship. Many fans believe that the actress might be moving to London and preparing for marriage herself.

However, a Vanity Fair source claimed that the 36-year-old actress' exit from the show was due to her desire to focus on being a philanthropist. "It was always her intention to focus on her humanitarian work, but I think her relationship with Harry has accelerated things moving in that direction," the source added.

Aside from this, speculations of the two actors' exit had been further fuelled when Markle and Adams were seen filming a wedding scene in their Toronto set, which could easily be a leeway for their exit.
