Fans of hit cartoon "Steven Universe" will be ecstatic to hear that a new character never before seen in the show will be introduced in "Steven Universe: Save the Light" video game adaptation.

Developer Grumpyface Studios and publisher Cartoon Network Games will be including Hessonite, an arrogant Homeworld commander who retrieves a powerful Prism from Earth to use it as a weapon. Hessonite was conceptualized and brought to life by Rebecca Sugar, creator of the original show on which the game is based, with the help of the development team.

The new villain will be voiced by Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Christine Baranski, who currently stars in "The Good Fight." Hessonite is also involved with Squaridot, another new character in the franchise previously announced for "Save the Light."

So far, no new details about the Gem that Hessonite is after have been revealed. Fans only know that it will be a powerful and pivotal Crystal Gem in-game. Meanwhile, more trouble will be expected for Steven, the game and show's protagonist, as Hessonite will apparently cross paths with him in her search for the powerful Prism.

"Steven Universe" is a hit cartoon series which first debuted on Cartoon Network. It features Gem Steven, a half-human, half-magical alien kid who learns more about his powers and origins as he grows up. The show follows the adventures, or rather, misadventures, of Steven and his friends, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl (the three Crystal Gems). His human father, Greg, and his best friend, Connie, are also included in his escapades.

Throughout the show, Steven discovers that the Gems scattered throughout Earth, which he meets in his adventures, were placed there by the Homeworld thousands of years ago when they planned to colonize the planet. In "Steven Universe: Save the Light," it seems that the Homeworld and its commanders are back for the planet once again, and it will be up to Steven to stop Hessonite from conducting her plans.

"Steven Universe: Save the Light" is the sequel to the mobile game "Steven Universe: Attack the Light," and is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 on Oct. 31 and Xbox One on Nov. 3.
