JJ Abrams has brought back "Star Wars" original stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford to reprise their iconic roles in the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," but it looks like more original characters are coming to film, and one of them is Admiral Ackbar.

The character, who was last seen in "Return of the Jedi," will be back for the next installment of the franchise with TIm Rose, who originally played the character, confirming that he will be in the movie. He revealed, however, that he cannot much about his character's involvement in the film.

Speaking to The Australian about the secrecy surrounding the film, Rose said, "Out of the need to be secret, we're not actually able to get everything we need to do our jobs as well as we could."

"And as someone who has been doing it for 35 years, I find it very frustrating," he added.

Director JJ Abrams and executives involved in the production have so far managed to keep spoilers from leaking out—a mean feat, considering that "Star Wars" is one of the most popular movie franchises in the world. But as the premiere date draws near, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has given some information about the characters to tide fans over until the film's December premiere.

Kennedy recently told The Costco Connection that the upcoming "Star Wars" trilogy, starting with "The Force Awakens," will continue the Skywalker family saga.

"The Saga films focus on the Skywalker family saga. The stories follow a linear narrative that connects to the previous six films. 'The Force Awakens' follows 'Return of the Jedi' and continues that generational story," she said.

With the confirmation that the new film will follow the events of the 1983 film, Rose hinted that aside from Ackbar, there will be more original characters who will return to the franchise.

"You can expect a smorgasbord of people you love," Rose said.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" premieres on Dec. 18.
