'Star Wars Episode IX' cast news: Tommy Wiseau from 'The Room' wants in on the next sequel

Tommy Wiseau wants to be one with the force, as the notoriously popular director/actor responsible for the unanimously bad and weird movie "The Room," has expressed interest in joining the last movie in the current "Star Wars" trilogy.

In his newly created Twitter account, Wiseau has tweeted the words "Oh, hi, Mark. Put me in the next Star Wars," as a reference to one of the most famous lines in "The Room." The director even reportedly instructed the showrunners and crew of the "Star Wars" movie franchise to contact him via his official "The Room" website.

This gesture from Wiseau has convinced fans that he is willing to play any part in the movie, though they are still speculating who he might play in the third "Star Wars" movie. As of now, there is no official title yet for "Star Wars: Episode IX," while "Episode VIII" is about to premiere in the movies next week. Chances are, Wiseau could still snag a role in the upcoming third film.

The AV Club even suggests that Wiseau can fit in nicely with the odd gangs of Mos Eisley spaceport along with the likes of the Greedos and Ponda Babas of the "Star Wars" universe.

It is worth noting that Wiseau's tweets for "Star Wars" was actually a response to a fan query on Twitter asking him if he wanted to direct a "Star Wars" movie. In response, Wiseau enthused that he would, though he humbly added that he was too busy at the moment. He added that he would be willing to at least act in it if given the chance.

Wiseau has seen a sudden surge in popularity this year after his 2003 movie "The Room" came up in several media outlets as the "Citizen Kane" of bad movies. The general consensus for "The Room" was that it felt like it was directed by someone who had no idea how movies should look or feel. This, however, did not stop the film and the actor-director from having a cult following, as fans laud the movie for being so bad it became good.

Fans may want to keep their hype down, though, as there is no word from Lucasfilm yet regarding Wiseau's inclusion in "Episode IX."
