Seven pastors who have officiated celebrity weddings

Halliwell and Christian Horner are reportedly getting married at Syon House in London, the home of the Duke of Northumberland. Twitter

With news that Holy Trinity Brompton's Nicky Gumbel will be presiding at ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell's wedding today, we've put together a list of pastors who have officiated celebrity weddings of days gone by.

Rich Wilkerson Jr: Kim Kardashian & Kanye West

Kim famously tried to break the internet but it had already gone into meltdown when pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr posted this photo of the Kanye-Kardashian wedding. The pair attend Wilkerson's church in Miami, and the pastor has counselled Kanye and even written things for his tour. Of the wedding, Wilkerson has said: "They wanted a Christian wedding, and wanted me to talk about Jesus. It wasn't a message of hate and judgment; it was a message of hope and love. Kim and Kanye have both told me that they're followers of Jesus; we're on the journey together as friends. I believe in them, and I believe in their marriage."

So happy for these two. Grateful for their friendship. The best is yet to come #marriedlifeisthebestlife

Carl Lentz: Landry Fields & Elaine Alden

Hillsong NYC's Carl Lentz, known for hanging out with Justin Bieber and even baptising him in a bathtub last year, has been busy with other ceremonies, too. He officiated the wedding of NBA player Landry Fields in July 2014.

John Mumford: Marcus Mumford & Carey Mulligan

The Mumford and Sons frontman wed childhood friend and actress Carey Mulligan last spring. His dad John Mumford, who co-founded Vineyard in the UK, conducted the ceremony in a converted barn in Somerset. No pressure on the reception band, then.

Rowan Williams: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

So maybe royals don't count as celebs, but this has got to be one of Lord Williams' biggest gigs. The 2011 wedding at Westminster Abbey pulled an estimated global audience of 300 million, the day was declared a bank holiday in the UK and some 26 million Brits are thought to have tuned in to the ceremony live. More than the average Sunday congregation, we imagine.

Bishop Paul Colton: David & Victoria Beckham

Though the Beckhams' wedding was a small affair, with just 29 close friends and family in attendance, the pair did nod to their lavish lifestyle by sitting on golden thrones during the ceremony. After they'd said their vows, a single dove was released to symbolise their love – we just hope Bishop of Cork, Paul Colton, had more luck than Pope Francis.

Rev Guy Edwards: James Corden & Julia Carey

Local vicar Guy Edwards married James Corden and his fiancée Julia Carey in September 2012 at a star-studded ceremony near Frome. "The ceremony was a Church of England but there were some things they did differently," he said at the time. "I was delighted to be asked to take the service and I wish them both well for the future."

Pastor Mike Schadt: Ben & Jessa Duggar

19 kids & Counting stars Ben and Jessa Duggar married at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Arkansas, last year, before an audience of almost 2,000 guests. Famously having saved their first kiss until marriage, the two fled the room after having been pronounced man and wife to share their first kiss in private. "The longer I talk the more they can smooch in private," pastor Schadt said while waiting for the pair to return. "So if I could just have your attention for three hours..."
