'Sense8' season 2 news: Cast attends Comic Con Experience 2015

"Sense8" became a hit this year as the Netflix series was renewed for a second season a month after it aired its season finale last July.

The sci-fi show, created by siblings Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski alongside J. Michael Straczynski, gained a lot of positive response from viewers and critics as the series features a groundbreaking storyline, which features 8 strangers around the globe who are connected by their shared visions and experiences.

On Friday, Dec. 4, cast members Jamie Clayton, Aml Ameen and Alfonso Herrera were at Comic Con Experience 2015 in Brazil to talk about the show at the convention's "Sense8" panel. While the three did not give any spoilers, they did reveal that they are preparing to film the new season, which gave fans some hope that season 2 will premiere in 2016 despite rumors claiming that the upcoming season has been deferred to 2017.

According to Sense8brasil.com, Ameen told the crowd that the cast has already received the script for the first episode. This week, Brian J. Smith tweeted that he has already read the script for episode three, and he posted a GIF of a man drinking a cocktail from a blender and wrote, "Me after reading @sense8 season 2 episode 3."

When asked about working with the Wachowskis, Ameen said that it was a great experience as they have the skill to combine the full range of human emotions in a very complex way. Clayton was also very happy with how receptive the fans are with her character.

For now, Netflix has not announced a release date for season 2, but Netflixlife speculates that if the show follows the trend of other Netflix originals, then season 2 would be released sometime in June next year. Meanwhile, some reports claim that filming will begin in March, and if this is accurate, then the next season could be released in the summer or fall of 2016.
