Selena Gomez credits Jonas brothers for friendship with Taylor Swift

"Wolves" singer Selena Gomez recently narrated how she and "Gorgeous" singer Taylor Swift had become close friends, and she credited it to the Jonas brothers.

The 25-year-old former "Wizards of the Waverly Place" actress shared in an interview with KISS FM UK that it was the Jonas brothers that had acted as the bridge for her and Swift's friendship. Gomez, who is now being linked to former boyfriend Justin Bieber, revealed that she and the blonde singer were dating two of the Jonas brothers at the time.

Gomez was dating Nick Jonas, while Swift was dating Joe Jonas around 2008. "It was amazing, because [Taylor] was the girl with the big curly hair and all the bracelets and the cowboy boots. And I was definitely up-and-coming and we just clicked," Gomez explained.

The "Fetish" singer even joked that the friendship was the best thing they got out of the failed relationships, though she later went on to clarify that she and the Jonas siblings are good friends and added that it was a different time now.

The "It Ain't Me" singer also divulged that she was open to doing collaborations with Swift and added, "She's been a fighter, a warrior and a friend through all of this, we actually talked about it a few days ago, it's almost been 12 years of friendship."

Even before this interview, Gomez and Swift had been known to be good friends. They casually appeared in each other's music videos with Gomez's "Bad Liar" video showing a Swift cameo. Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that the "Style" singer's poster was seen in Gomez's room.

Gomez appeared as well in Swift's "Bad Blood" star-studded music video when she portrayed Arsyn. The video also showed singers Ellie Goulding, Zendaya, Hailee Steinfeld, and Kendrick Lamar, and models Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, and Cara Delevingne.
