Samsung just released its latest flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S8. But rumors about the specs of the upcoming Galaxy S9 already started to come out.

According to South Korean publishing Aju Business Daily, the new device will be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor. The new chipset might possibly be manufactured by Samsung or TSMC when its development has been completed.

According to reports, both companies are planning to have 7-nanometer manufacturing process that is expected to be ready for production by 2018. But Samsung already had an arrangement with Qualcomm to manufacture its current 10-nanometer Snapdragon 835 chipset, which allowed the South Korean technology and consumer electronics products manufacturer to use the new power chipset on its own flagship smartphone first before to its competitors.

While official details about the upcoming Snapdragon 845 chipset remain under wraps, reports claim that it will lessen power consumption to about 15 percent and increase the device's performance to about 10 percent as compared to the Snapdragon 835.

Other reports claim that Samsung already began manufacturing the screens of the upcoming Galaxy S9 smartphones. The next-generation Galaxy S is also expected to arrive in two variants, the 5.7-inch Galaxy S9 and its bigger cousin, the Galaxy S9+, which is speculated to feature a 6.2-inch display.

On the other hand, the current line of Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display, 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 256 GB using dedicated microSD slot, 12-megapixel primary camera with 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

Reports also claim that Samsung is dividing the manufacturing process of the Galaxy S9 into different stages. This means that after the display manufacturing, it will proceed with the development of the smartphone's other features.

Samsung is expected to confirm the details about the rumored Galaxy S9 developments, as well as its release information in the coming days.
