While 2017 has not ended, phone manufacturer Samsung is set to flex its muscles in dominating the smartphone market at the mid-range level. The South Korean phone company is rumored to be coming out with a mid-range smartphone with a bezel-less display.

According to reports, the new phone, Galaxy A7 (2018), will come out sporting the Android Nougat operating system. This means that despite the phone model being one of the newest to come out from Samsung, the Galaxy A series will not be running on the latest Android operating system, which is Oreo.

Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) will be running on an ARM v8 octa-core processor clocking at a speed of 1.5 GHz. The unit will also have the Exynos 7885 system-on-chip (SoC), alongside having a 6 GB of random-access memory (RAM). The phone tallied 1,478 points on single-core tests and 4,170 points on multi-core tests according to benchmark testings.

The Galaxy A7 (2018) will have a 5.7-inch screen and will sport the Infinity Display found on top-tier Samsung units. The phone will feature an all-screen display panel giving it the luxurious and smoother feel of the other top-of-the-line phones. This isn't a new aesthetic design with mid-range phones whose common configurations are 18:9. While the Galaxy A7 (2018) can boast of an almost bezel-less screen, it won't have the smooth curved edges of its pricier cousins, Galaxy S8 or Galaxy Note 8.

The Galaxy A7 (2018) will also have a storage space of either 32 or 64 GB that can be expanded with a microSD. It's front and back cameras can shoot at 16 megapixels so taking a picture or a selfie will yield the same photo quality.

Aside from these features, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) will have a dedicated Bixby button for users to activate the digital assistant; the buttons can be found on Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ that came out this year.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) is expected to make an appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2018.
