Robert Pattinson, FKA Twigs breakup update: Katy Perry gets dragged into the picture

"Twilight" actor Robert Pattinson and "Video Girl" singer FKA Twigs have recently called it quits. Therefore, there is no need to expect for a wedding to happen. However, reports say that the former was seen with another singer months before the breakup.

According to E! News, the 31-year-old actor was spotted with the company of "Roar" singer Katy Perry for a dinner in August, just a month prior to the split with his fiancée. The source divulged that Perry and Pattinson had remained good friends and kept the communication alive. "They aren't serious as of now, but Rob has always had an interest in Katy," the insider said.

A second source denied the rumors between the two and said that they were just "chilling." Another one claimed that the Pattinson and Perry have the same interests and that the latter had been giving him advice. The same source also disclosed that Pattinson had been "leaning a lot on Katy since his split with FKA Twigs."

The cause of the breakup, as cited by a source, was the difference in their schedules. It was reportedly Pattinson who made the decision to split. The insider also divulged that Twigs, or Tahliah Debrett Barnett, moved out of the house they bought together.

After news of their engagement broke out in April 2015, fans had been waiting for a wedding announcement from the 29-year-old singer and Pattinson. The "Remember Me" actor reportedly gave Twigs a pear-shaped diamond ring priced at $150,000.

Since then, their relationship had taken the brunt of many controversies. Just after the announcement of the engagement, the songwriter received racist comments and threats on her Twitter account. But in an interview with the USA Today in 2014, Twigs revealed that with the positivity she received, the relationship became worth it.
