'Rick and Morty' Szechuan sauce news: Single sauce packet traded for a car

McDonald's Szechuan sauce may be in short supply, but fan determination is undoubtedly in spades, as one Rick and Morty fan makes a saucy deal by trading her car for a single Szechuan sauce packet.

Rachel Marie from Michigan has reportedly bartered her McDonald's Szechuan sauce packet for a working Volkswagen Golf MK4 from Duane Kimmel. Marie even congratulated Kimmel for their deal and hoped the best for him as he wallows in the sauce.

Initially, Marie had only hoped to trade the legendary sauce packet for a just a few rare pins on Facebook after being one of the lucky few customers who were able to grab an order. Even so, this was still considered to be a good trade, and she was ecstatic that Kimmel offered a working car to trade for the sauce packet.

This, however, was not the first time fans went out of their way for the famed Szechuan dip. Earlier in the year, a bottle of the sauce, initially offered as a contest reward by McDonald's following the first episode of "Rick and Morty" season 3, was apparently sold for $14,000 on eBay. Also, a bottle of Big Mac sauce was also sold for $16,000 on eBay after several intense auction clashes.

With the surprising inflation of value that the said sauces incur, Eater even suggested that McDonald's might be able to make a more significant fortune out of selling their rare sauces, or a McDonald's sauce broker may be a viable source of income this year.

Kimmel, the owner of the Volkswagen, may also be shocked to hear that McDonald's, due to their failure to respond to the massive demand for Szechuan sauce, will be bringing the sauce back as a regular condiment come winter. This statement was released after the faulty promotional structure for the one-day Szechuan sauce revival event last Oct. 7.

No exact date has been announced yet for the Szechuan sauce return.
