The final episode of "Rick and Morty" just concluded season 3 of the hit animated show from Adult Swim. However, fans do not have to sulk as show creator Justin Roiland is already planning the next series of episodic adventures of the famous odd couple.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Roiland teased that he may produce 14 episodes next season as opposed to only 10 this year. He explained, "I'm still learning how to do the show efficiently while catering to the perfectionist in all of us. I would like to think I've learned enough from my mistakes in season 3 that we could definitely do 14 now."

Roiland believes that he can pull off doing 14 episodes next season but still has some doubts. He says that he does not want to be in a position wherein people will trust him one moment but then get disappointed once he does not deliver. He had a related experience back then when he created the comedy show called "Community" which starred Joel McHale, Danny Glover, Ken Jeong, Alison Brie, and Danny Pudi.

"I fell apart in season 3 of 'Community' and got fired in season 4. Now I'm about to do season 4 of 'Rick and Morty' and want to prove that I've grown," Roiland expressed. The write-creator seemingly wants to prove his worth and accomplish what he says.

The third season of "Rick and Morty" took over a year to produce. Roiland implies that he does not want to take that long to make the fourth season.

In the season finale, the episode took shots at itself with hints of taking too long to complete anything between seasons. Kevin Yeoman of ScreenRant explained, "The episode pays a self-deprecating compliment to 'South Park' with a Minecraft joke that deliberately feels outdated just to underline the wait between seasons 2 and 3."

No official announcement has been made about the release date of "Rick and Morty" season 4. Stay tuned for more reports as the situation unfolds.
