Adult Swim remains tight-lipped about the premiere date of "Rick and Morty" season 3, but speculations continue to come up regarding the animated series' release date.

Despite the reports about the completion of scripts for the third season of the fan-favorite animated show, the network could still not reveal when exactly will the series begins after season 2 ended in October 2015.

But speculations claim that one of the show's producers, Dan Guterman, already mentioned that they are already done with some of the portions of the animation process. This could mean that the animated series is expected to arrive soon.

However, other rumors claim that "Rick and Morty" is on the verge of cancellation because the people behind the series are constantly in conflict with one another. Although, a report from Game N Guide claimed that there are no problems within the producers and writers of the show, and all of them are on the same page regarding the plot of the series.

Meanwhile, there is also a report saying that there will be a Christmas episode for "Rick and Morty." But Guterman reportedly shrugged off the rumors, which could mean that a special episode will be released sometime in December.

Other rumors claim that the plot for "Rick and Morty" season 3 will deal with Rick's detention at the Galactic Federation prison. According to rumors, Rick will try to break out of prison with the help of the evil version of his teenage grandson Morty. He might also get the assistance from his wife to be able to return to his family on Earth.

There are also speculations suggesting that Rick's daughter Beth and her husband Jerry will finally end their tumultuous marriage. However, none of the plot speculations had been confirmed by the network.

The third season of "Rick and Morty" is still expected to be released before the end of 2016.
