"Rick and Morty" fans who can't get enough of the show might want to turn their gazes to another media form, as the franchise will now be branching out to comic books in the form of a spinoff miniseries about the side characters.

American independent comic book publisher Oni Press has announced the upcoming comic book miniseries for "Rick and Morty." Each issue of the said miniseries will focus on a specific character from the "Rick and Morty" franchise such as Krombopulos Michael, Sleepy Gary, and Pickle Rick and Jaguar. It is important to note that it will only be a four-issue miniseries, which may be short for some.

The first issue of the miniseries, however, will be about The Vindicators, who are a parody of the "Avengers" in one of Rick and Morty's inter-dimensional adventures during the third season of the show. The miniseries will have a segment title "Rick and Morty Presents" and are expected to be every bit as humorous and profoundly absurd as the show.

First in the lineup of artists and writers tasked to bring the side characters to life in the pages of a comic book is J. Torres for the writing, as well as longtime series artist CJ Cannon and colorist Nick Filardi for the art.

The Vindicators first appeared in the episode "Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender" of "Rick and Morty," which was about a dysfunctional collective of superheroes with weird powers and abilities. Some of them include Million Ants, who is a shapeshifting entity made of ants, Crocubot, who is a cyborg crocodile, and of course Rick Sanchez, a destructively alcoholic genius.

The first issue of "Rick and Morty Presents" will see the Vindicators traveling through time to recruit new members. During their search for team member, they accidentally create a villain in the process. The creative team behind the miniseries has promised readers a compelling read full of shocking revelations and unforeseeable plot twists, much like the adult cartoon it is based upon.

Fans will have to wait until next year, though, as the first issue of "Rick and Morty Presents" will not be arriving until its debut on March 7, 2018.
