'Rick and Morty' latest news: Season 3 DVD and Blu-ray release date confirmed

"Rick and Morty" season 3 disc copy is now officially out of limbo, as the home network of the adult cartoon has announced the release schedule for the physical copies of the third season of the show.

Adult Swim has finally revealed that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will be released on May 15 and will be available on both DVD and Blu-ray. This makes it a must-have for hardcore fans of the franchise, as there are bonus contents available that were not seen on TV, particularly behind-the-scenes cuts and more.

The DVD and Blu-ray copy will have 220 minutes of run time and features all the 10 episodes of season 3 of the TV program. In addition to the 10 episodes, numerous never-before-seen bonus features including a newly produced, exclusive commentary for all 10 episodes, with special guest commentary from the show's voice talents like Chris Parnell (Jerry) and stars like John Mayer will also be available.

There will also be animatics included for each episode of the third season, which will show how the showrunners, artists and writers work on "Rick and Morty" from brainstorming to plotting the scenes. These segments of the special DVD and Blu-ray copy will be called "Inside the Episode," in which each episode is explained as well as some backstories for Rick and Morty.

Finally, an exclusive "Inside the Booth" segment is also included and will feature the voice talents of the show in action during the recording sessions. Most notable among them is the multi-talented co-creator Justin Roiland who voices both Rick and Morty as well as other side characters both expendable and otherwise.

To acquire the special edition physical copies of "Rick and Morty" season 3, fans need only look for them in Best Buy and FYE. Best Buy also offers an exclusive Steelbook on Blu-ray only while FYE provides an exclusive series poster with purchase of either Blu-ray or DVD.
