A "Red Dead Redemption 2" leak has recently surfaced, which indicates that the developers may be planning something big for the game.

The said information leak was obtained by website Trusted Reviews and it seems like some form of battle-royale mechanics will be added to the console-exclusive title from Rockstar Games. This news is not surprising given the immense popularity of the battle-royale game mode, with "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" ("PUBG") and "Fortnite: Battle Royale" being the talk of the gaming community nowadays. But it is yet unclear how "Red Dead Redemption 2" will put its own battle-royale twist.

This battle-royale mode will be released along with other multiplayer modes such as Revive and Survive and Money Grab, which were also mentioned in the leak. These two seem like the standard competitive multiplayer modes seen in other recent AAA games.

Apart from the alleged multiplayer modes, a feature from the PC and next-gen version of "Grand Theft Auto V" ("GTA 5") will be returning in "Red Dead Redemption 2" seeing as how the two have the same developers. This will be the first-person view switch that allows players to pick a gameplay perspective they are most comfortable with, although this is actually more useful for multiplayer than single player, and if the battle-royale mode rumor should be proven true, this might even be necessary.

Due to the popularity and success of "GTA Online," which is "GTA 5's" multiplayer component, it seems Rockstar Games will be trying to emulate it in "Red Dead Redemption 2." A lot of features of "GTA Online" will also be present in the upcoming western frontier game such as the apartment system and other multiplayer privileges. Fans should still keep in mind though that unlike "GTA Online," "Red Dead Redemption 2" will not be available for the PC, at least not yet.

This means modding support will be nonexistent. At this moment, however, these rumors and leaks should be taken with a grain of salt and they will be confirmed or dispelled once "Red Dead Redemption 2" gets released on Oct. 26 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
