Being King of the Hill in "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" (PUBG) for the Xbox One just became a smoother experience, as the new update for the game adds performance improvements and additional controls.

The Xbox One developers of "PUBG" have already implemented the said update which seeks to optimize the game and make the gameplay experience much better since the controls are significantly less precise compared to the PC version.

Community coordinator PUBG_RoboDanjal, a representative of the Xbox One development team, has stated, "We are pushing a fix for an in-game issue that was undermining the core experience for some players. As part of that update, we have decided to include some additional performance and gameplay improvements, as well as a new controller option."

This control update came in the form of a revamp for the pistol weapon equip command on the controller. Now, the pistol has been removed from the "Y" button weapon selection during the game and has been grouped with the melee weapon selection. In addition to that, pistols can also now be equipped by pressing the up button on the D-pad of the  Xbox One controller. Players will have to take some time getting used to this new control scheme for the pistol though, at least until they find a main weapon.

A new controller preset has also been added in the Xbox One version and is called Type B where players can hold the left trigger (LT) to aim down sights and the hold left bumper (LB) to aim in third-person perspective. This should make aiming a lot more convenient for players who prefer to hold a button instead of toggle aiming.

Meanwhile, the performance improvements include some much-needed server issue fixes, such as ways to mitigate latency or "rubber banding" and enhanced server performance while parachuting. Both should make the first few minutes on the map a lot more survivable for players since lag and server issues can cost players a match.

The update is now available on the Xbox One version of "PUBG."
