"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" (PUBG) co-owner CH Kim, CEO of PUBG Corp, owes much to its player base for the success of the Battle Royale game.

However, Kim has also stated one crucial component of the game's success, which are the Twitch streamers of "PUBG," who essentially provided an honest advertisement for the game. Kim even went as far as to admit that without the streamers, the game would not have been enjoying the same level of success it is right now, which is a record high of 30 million players.

Kim has also suggested that the game being more "watchable" than other competitive titles like "Call of Duty" and other first-person shooters (FPS) makes it more compelling for viewers since it also makes them want to be part of the action. Right now, they are confident that the game would continue to become even more popular in the coming months, especially since it is now a full game with a constant stream of content updates to follow.

"This is one of the first examples of when a game is very spectatable and enjoyable to watch, this allows it to be more powerful than a lot of the other marketing vehicles that triple-A products use. Obviously, the core gameplay itself has to be appealing and replayable but for that to expand out, we feel that streaming platforms have been critical to our success," said Kim.

The game has also seen a successful Xbox One release and is now currently one of the most played games on the said console. This could mean that the success of "PUBG" on the PC might easily be replicated on the Xbox One as well, though it would be difficult to gauge since Microsoft is not as in-depth as Steam with their player count.

According to News Ledge, one of the most appealing factors of the game both in Xbox One and PC, is that every match is a story, where every time a player joins a horde of 99 others in a bid to be the last one standing, lots of unexpected things can happen, often in a funny, nerve-wracking, or exhilarating way.

In the future, Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene hopes to cooperate more with the players in order to improve the game. Fans can rest assured that they are still hard at work in making this a reality.
