The second half of "Pretty Little Liars" will be a big change for fans of the series as the show jumps forward five years after the events of the midseason finale.

Viewers will see Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Aria (Lucy Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Alison (Sasha Pieterse) in a new light as the girls have all grown up into women who are busy with their new careers and new relationships.

But it appears that Spencer's former boyfriend will also be meeting new people as it was officially announced this week that Kara Royster will be playing the part of Toby's (Keegan Allen) new mystery woman.

According to E! News, Spencer's former flame will be sharing a connection to Yvonne, a woman he saved while working in the police force. The character is described by Variety as being "smart, sleek, and classy" and she becomes an important person in Toby's life.

Royster's past credits include Disney's "Liv and Maddie" and Fox's "Scream Queens." On Thursday, Dec. 24, the actress took to her Instagram account to confirm the news by posting a picture of a piece of paper with her character's name on it above another piece of paper with "Pretty Little Liars" printed on it. She captioned the shot, "So excited to finally say…I will be playing Yvonne in PRETTY LITTLE LIARS! This is such a dream come true, can't wait for you guys to see it."

During the series' recent special, Bellisario revealed what happened between Toby and Spencer before the time jump. The actress said that after graduating from Georgetown, Spencer went on to D.C. to work as a lobbyist while Toby remained in Rosewood to work in the police force. Eventually, the distance between them proved to be too much to handle and the couple went on their separate ways.

"Pretty Little Liars" returns on Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. on Freeform, the new name of ABC Family.
