Fans of Pokemon will not only get the Sun and the Moon but the stars as well, Pokemon stars to be precise, such as different versions of Pikachu and mythical Pokemon Magearna. This is because Nintendo will be giving away a plethora of gifts and freebies as "Pokemon Ultra Sun" and "Pokemon Ultra Moon" approach their release dates.
First on the list of gifts that Nintendo will be giving are the Mega Stones. These are rare and elusive equipment for Pokemon which allow them to Mega Evolve during battle, giving them an edge against the enemy Pokemon. The Mega Stones which Nintendo will be giving away are usually not available on the "Sun" and "Moon."
The said stones can be unlocked using the following codes: INTIMIDATE for Mawilite, Beedrillite, Audinite, and Medichamite; AZUL for Pidgeotite, Steelixite, Heracronite, and Houndoominite; MATSUBASA for Sceptilite, Blazikenite, Swampertite, Cameruptite, and Banettite; SABLEVOLANT for Tyranitarite, Abomasite, Manectite, and Aggronite; POYONG for Galladite, Gardevoirite, Lopunnite, and Diancite; and DRACHE for Ampharosite, Altarianite, Latiosite, Latiasite. The promo for the Mega Stones ends Oct. 31.
As for the free Pokemon, Marshadow will be available via a free download code. The mythical Pokemon will be level 50 and will come equipped with Marshadium Z. Pikachu will also be given away free as a gift, a total of six types of Pikachu are available, and which version the players will receive depends on when they input the code PIKACHU20 in Mystery Gift. As of now, there are two types left: Kalos hat Pikachu and Alola hat Pikachu.
Players who also purchase "Pokemon Gold" or "Pokemon Silver" from the 3DS Eshop before Sept. 21, 2018 will be able to receive a download code for the mythical Pokemon Celebi which can be redeemed in "Pokemon Ultra Sun" and "Ultra Moon," or the regular "Sun" and "Moon" versions.
Magearna will not be available conventionally available via redeem code or through Mystery Gift but instead, can be obtained by scanning a code with the QR scanner feature after defeating the Elite Four and finishing the main story. Like Marshadow, Magearna will also be at level 50 when obtained.
Last, purchasing "Ultra Sun" or "Ultra Moon" before Jan. 10, 2018 will give players a free Rockruff.
"Pokemon Ultra Sun" and "Ultra Moon" will be released on Nov. 17 for the Nintendo 3DS.
