'Pokemon GO' Eevee Evolution Guide 2017: Techniques to evolve one of the most common Pokemon

Eevee might be one of the most common Pokemon available for "Pokemon GO," but the brown-furred mammalian-type Pokemon can evolve into different types of more specialized monsters with the help of some tricks.

Reports claim that Eevee can have as much as five evolutions in five elemental types. After the Gen 2 update for the popular location-based augmented reality game, Eevee can now evolve into the more exotic types of Pokemon using simple techniques.

In Gen 1, the brown-eyed Pokemon with long, pointed ears can turn into a Vaporeon when exposed to a Water Stone. It will evolve into a Flareon whenever it is placed near a Fire Stone, or evolve into a Jolteon when placed near a Thunder Stone.

Eevee will also evolve into an Espeon or an Umbreon when leveled up with high friendship during the daytime and nighttime, respectively.

But after the introduction of the Gen 2 update for "Pokemon GO," players can simply opt to rename Eevee to help it evolve.

Those who will rename the dog-like Pokemon into Sakura will see it evolve into Espeon, while renaming it Tamao will help it to evolve into Umbreon. Meanwhile, renaming Eevee as Rainer will evolve the Pokemon into Vaporeon.

On the other hand, players who will rename their Pokemon Eevee into Sparky could expect it to evolve into Jolteon. Then renaming it to Pyro will bring Eevee to evolve into Flareon.

To check if the renaming technique worked for Eevee's evolution, players must quit the game and restart the app to see if the trick is successful.

Meanwhile, "Pokemon GO" players are being treated with the new Easter Event called the Eggstravaganza.

According to the game's press release from Niantic Labs, the Easter Event will be held from April 13, 1 p.m. PDT to 1 p.m. of April 20.

"Throughout this Eggstravaganza, you'll also level up even faster with double XP! Combine this Egg-cellent bonus with a Lucky Egg, and you'll earn four times the XP you normally would. To make this Eggstravaganza even sweeter, Lucky Eggs will be 50% off in the in-game shop!" the press release states.
