Players have a reason to rejoice as "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" will be released on the Xbox One. The game was successfully launched to PC via Steam Early Access last March.

Brendan Greene, the creative director of "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds," confirmed to IGN the Xbox One version of the game and said that physical copies will be arriving in stores. Microsoft first made this information public during their showcase at the 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" developer Bluehole is closely collaborating with Microsoft on the video game's Xbox One release. Last August, reports surfaced that Microsoft Studios would be officially publishing the video game rather than being handled by the ID@Xbox indie program.

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" will have specific improvements that take advantage of the power provided by the Xbox One and soon-to-be-released Xbox One X.

The video game is expected to come out in Xbox One's Game Preview Program before the year ends. This will give players an early look at the "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds'" battle royale-themed gameplay before it is officially released.

The new gameplay is inspired by Japanese film "Battle Royale" which came out in 2000 and featured a group of students trying to kill each other until only one survived.

Battle royale matches in "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" will start with 100 players dropping in via a parachute on a remote island. The players are then left to protect themselves or align with other players as well as find weapons and form strategies with the objective of being the only survivor in the end.

According to the video game's development team, the upcoming change will provide players the chance to focus on the action inside the battle royale. This will hopefully make the gameplay fairer for everyone and address the long-standing cheating issues that have frustrated a lot of players.
