A petition supporting "19 Kids & Counting" is outpacing a petition calling for the show's cancellation.
Over 180,000 people have spoken out to keep the reality show on the air, versus 164,000 detractors on Change.org.
"We did it!" a LifePetition organiser wrote in an update posted Sunday. "We have surpassed the massive anti-Duggar petition on Change.org. And we did it with pure grassroots power, while the anti-Duggar petition had HUGE media support.
"But we can't rest now! We need to get a comfortable lead. And we need to start pressuring the media to stop ignoring the pro-Duggar counter-effort.
"E-mail your local TV and radio stations, take to Twitter and post using the #DefendtheDuggars hashtag and tag a journalist or media network in your post. Let's spread the word!"
The Change.org petition has been running for several months but gained momentum in the last week after the Duggars deleted photos of same-sex couples kissing on their Facebook page. The family solicited photos of married couples kissing to promote the sanctity of marriage.
The Duggars were also criticised for campaigning against a transgender rights initiative banning discrimination in housing, employment, and accommodations based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
Matriarch Michelle Duggar appeared on an automated call warning Fayetteville, Arkansas residents that the law would allow transgender women to use women's facilities.
"The Fayetteville City Council is voting on an ordinance this Tuesday night that would allow men – yes I said men – to use womens and girls restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas that are designated for females only," Duggar said on the recording.
"I don't believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls."
The transgender rights initiative passed in August.
Those supporting the reality stars say that the family speaks for many other Americans, and do not deserve to have their show taken away.
"Rather than being extreme, the Duggars represent the majority of people in state after state who have stood up for the traditional family," the LifePetition said
"The real extremists are those who are demanding that a TV network penalise America's beloved family because they support the truth about family, which they have always expressed in a loving, compassionate fashion."
