Last August, it was reported that Zayn Malik ended his two year engagement with Perrie Edwards, allegedly via text message. The pair never spoke about the reason for the breakup, and now, it looks like the former One Direction member has moved on and is dating someone else as he posted an Instagram picture of him hugging another girl. Meanwhile, Edwards has begun to go on dates and is rumored to be seeing "TOWIE" star Joey Essex.

As Malik is preparing to launch his solo career, there were reports that the singer was allegedly in talks to star on a reality show about his life after One Direction. Now, a source tells Hollywoodlife that the Little Mix singer seems to find this odd, as Edwards reportedly said that when she was with Malik, the 22-year old frequently complained about the lack of privacy as paparazzi would constantly follow him during his days with the British boy band.

"Perrie doesn't understand why on earth Zayn would want cameras to following him around 24/7," said the insider to the website. "She thinks he's just confused and desperate to fit in with the LA scene."

The source added that back in London, the singer used to complain about the lack of privacy and "wished he could just walk down the street without being harassed" by the paparazzi.

The insider also said that Edwards was surprised that her ex-fiance would want to be on a reality show, when he "never liked" reality shows in the first place.

"He must be really lonely, that's what Perrie sums up," said the source.

Malik has made headlines all throughout the year as he left One Direction back in March while in the middle of the Asian leg of their world tour. In his statement, Malik said that he was leaving the band so he could live the life of a normal 22-year-old.
