The pastor who officiated the most talked about wedding of the year said that people from all walks of life worship at his Miami Gardens church.

Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. married Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in Italy nearly two weeks ago, and is back with his congregation at Trinity Church.

In an interview published Tuesday, Wilkerson said that celebrities sometime attend their services, but the church is inclusive of everyone.

"We have all different types of people walk through the doors all the time, from the nameless to the famous," he told CBS Miami.

Wilkerson, who leads the church's youth ministry, also described how he met the superstar couple two years ago.

"They came to church, and we just became friends. I know it sounds probably kind of crazy, but that's really how simple it is," he said.

Wilkerson is also West's spiritual advisor. When the rapper had questions about performing his single "Jesus Walks" on stage, he consulted the Florida pastor. It was only natural that Kimye asked Wilkerson to pronounce them man and wife.

The 30-year-old said the wedding was one-of-a-kind.

"It's always fun to do weddings... but of course this wedding was extra special because it's really good friends of mine," Wilkerson said. "The whole thing was absolutely phenomenal, and I wish them all the best."

Trinity Church members had no idea one of their pastors would be officiating the star-studded nuptials until they saw him in Instagram photos.

"He's a very private person, if you go to him for counseling, he will keep it very private. So that part didn't surprise me," May Rivera told CBS Miami. "But Kim and Kanye? That part was surprising!"

Another church member, Bennett Johnson, said that Pastor Wilkerson ministering to celebrities is a great thing.

"I think it's pretty cool that he can be a light to so many high level people and shine the light of Jesus to those people. It's pretty cool," Johnson stated.
