"Outlander" continues to give fans updates about the show as the Starz series gears up for its second season. On Tuesday, Jan. 19, executive producer Matthew B. Roberts took to Twitter and revealed that they are filming the last two episodes of season 2.

"Busy filming last two eps of S2 @Outlander_Starz #Outlander this is the only #potd I could manage #moretocomesoon," Roberts tweeted. The tweet was accompanied by a picture of the first page of a script, which shows that the episode was written by Roberts and Toni Graphia.

If Roberts' tweets are any indication of how the season 2 finale will play out, it appears that the last episode of the upcoming season will be an emotional one as the producer revealed on the micro blogging site that the cast has done the last read-thru of season 2.

"Last read-thru of @Outlander_Starz outlander S2. Some familiar faces, some new ones. Some laughter, some tears. Mostly tears #Bittersweet." Roberts wrote.

The second season of the hit series is based on Diana Gabaldon's second "Outlander" novel titled "Dragonfly in Amber." Season 2 sees Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) in Paris as they look for Bonnie Prince Charles in hopes of stopping the Jacobite uprising.

Ahead of the upcoming season, the main cast and the producers of the show have been making the rounds at awards ceremonies as the show and several of its actors have been nominated for various awards.

At the Golden Globes, Balfe was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series while Tobias Menzies was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. "Outlander" was also nominated for Best Television Drama Series. At the Critics Choice Awards, the series won as the Most Bingeworthy show, beating out other favorites such as "Game of Thrones" and "The Walking Dead."

"Outlander" returns in April on Starz.
