This week, all eyes are on OnePlus as it is set to unveil an upgraded version of its current flagship anytime soon. While many are intrigued with the company's upcoming phone, the OnePlus 3T, others have chosen to wait for the OnePlus 4, as the handset is touted to be a flagship killer that could blow the competition away once it launches next year.

The latest rumor indicates that the OnePlus 4 will be powered by a Snapdragon 830 chipset with 8 GB of random access memory (RAM) onboard. The device is tipped to have a glass body and a 5.3-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It is also said that the handset will have 128 GB of internal storage.

OnePlus 4 is alleged to have a dual camera setup at the back which is said to be a combination of augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) cameras. If the reports are accurate, then the OnePlus 4 could be one of the top gaming phones of 2017, as many app developers are now scrambling to work on the next big thing after the success of "Pokémon GO."

Meanwhile, a Weibo leak (via BGR) indicates that OnePlus could skip the number 4 in naming its next flagship device. It was claimed that the OnePlus 4 could likely be called the OnePlus 5. No explanation was given as to the phone's name, but it's likely that OnePlus has opted to skip the number 4 in its naming scheme because the number is considered unlucky in China and almost sounds like the Chinese word for "death."

It was also claimed that the OnePlus 4 could come in two versions when it comes to memory, with one model having 6 GB of RAM while another will allegedly have 8 GB of RAM. The handset is expected to launch in June 2017, based on OnePlus' last flagship launch last June.

Stay tuned for more news about the OnePlus 4.
