One Direction's New Jersey concert pushed through last Wednesday, and there were no reports of any attempt to harm Harry Styles. It is unclear whether it was due to increased security at the Metlife Stadium or because the death threats against the boy band member were nothing but a hoax.

Last month, One Direction fans were rattled when a Twitter user threatened to end Styles' life. Stuff.co.nz reported back in July that Twitter users @DTAustin21_ and @DTAustin21x have posted tweets threatening the singer, saying that something would happen to him on Aug. 5 during the band's concert in New Jersey.

According to Gossip Cop, both accounts were made by someone identified as Derek, and he wrote, "I made this account to let everyone know that Harry Styles will die, August 5, 2015, at Metlife Stadium. He ruined my little sister's life, and he will now pay. Enjoy Metlife, you little girls…"

Aside from the initial tweets, Gossip Cop has reported that Derek posted more messages hinting at Styles' future demise, and among his most chilling messages was a post which read, "No matter how careful he will be it will not prevent him from what's coming."

Last month, the site has reached out to the singer's reps to see if they will be stepping up security at the concert. Twitter has suspended both accounts, but Stuff.co was able to get screenshots of the menacing tweets.

The boy band's fans immediately rallied on social media, telling Styles that he has to be careful, and the hashtag "#HarryBeCareful" immediately became a trending topic on Twitter.

Over the past months, One Direction has made headlines due to some of the members' career choices and personal lives. In March, Zayn Malik left the band as he said in a statement that he wanted to be "a normal 22-year old," only to pursue a solo career a few months later. Last week, he announced that he has signed as a solo artist with RCA, and earlier this week, he ended his engagement to Perrie Edwards. Louis Tomlinson also made news earlier this year as he and Eleanor Calder, his girlfriend of four years, broke up, and last month, it was reported that he is expecting a baby with his good friend Briana Jungwirth.
