Last month, it was reported that former One Direction band member Zayn Malik broke up with his fiancée, Perrie Edwards. As Edwards tries to move on by keeping busy promoting new music with her band mates, a new report claims that she has received some support from an unlikely source – 1D member Harry Styles.

According to The Daily Star, Styles reached out to Edwards after news broke that Malik had abruptly called off their engagement. A source told the website that Styles was the only One Direction member who reached out to her, and that he could relate to what she is going through.

"It's something Harry really understands from having his heart broken by his first girlfriend when he was 14," said the insider. "His heart immediately went to Perrie and he called her up straight away. He's very spontaneous that way. It meant a lot to her."

Meanwhile, Styles is reportedly concerned that Malik may be heading for a meltdown soon. Prior to splitting up with his fiancée, the former boy band member left One Direction last March and got signed to record label RCA as a solo artist last month. Malik has also been spending more time in the U.S. and was seen in the company of Method Man and Red Man. He also attended Kylie Jenner's 18th birthday last week.

However, it is his behavior on social media that is reportedly causing some concern as he recently took a shot at Little Mix, and even started a Twitter war with Calvin Harris this week when he tweeted what appears to be a dig at his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Although Styles and Swift broke up a long time ago, a Hollywood Life source said that he thought "Zayn's diss to Taylor was uncool and passive aggressive."

The insider added that Styles was worried about Malik after his Twitter rants and that his behavior may be a sign that he is spiraling out of control after ending his engagement to Edwards.

"His rants are not a good sign at all, and this won't be good for him professionally either," said the source. Malik's actions are allegedly upsetting his former bandmates as the insider added, "At this point, 1D would never want a reunion with him because he's just too toxic."
