For months, it was reported that Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell have been dating exclusively, and the two have often been photographed being affectionate with each other. Though the two have never spoken about their relationship, Dobrev and Stowell confirmed in a series of recent Twitter posts that they are indeed a couple, with the "Whiplash" star even referring to the actress as his girlfriend.

On Tuesday, Oct. 20, the "Public Morals" actor appeared to realize that they were not connected on social media and made this observation in his Twitter post, which read, "That weird moment when you realize you don't follow your girlfriend on Twitter...#socialmediaproblems @ninadobrev." His post was accompanied by a screenshot of the "Vampire Diaries" alum's Twitter page.

One fan pointed out that the actress isn't one of his followers either, and the fan wrote, "and the awkward moment when she doesn't follow you either."

But nine minutes after Stowell's post, Dobrev posted a screenshot of her boyfriend's tweet and started following him as well. The actress wrote, "That awkward moment when u realize ur not following him either & gotta do it real fast b4 he realizes @austinstowell."

After his initial tweet, the actor wrote, "I guess it's official @ninadobrev."

Earlier this month, the pair made their first red carpet appearance as a couple at the red carpet premiere of Stowell's movie, "Bridge of Spies." It was revealed that they were dating when they were seen kissing at a comedy club back in June following the Hallmark Shoebox relaunch, which both of them attended.

Since then, the couple has been seen together in other events, including a dinner party for the Kind Campaign with Dobrev's friends. They have also been spotted getting cozy while on vacation in the South of France. The two are also very supportive of each other's careers, as Dobrev took to Twitter last month to promote "Public Morals" on the micro blogging site.
