In the next episode of "'NCIS: Los Angeles," a Navy Lieutenant is murdered which prompts agents G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) to investigate. They unravel a bigger conspiracy in the process.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Assets" was released recently and showed the dead body of a woman in an indoor swimming pool. The stakes are raised upon knowing that the corpse is that of a Navy Lieutenant. As Callen and Hanna dig deeper into the case, they uncover a sophisticated conspiracy which the Lieutenant may have been a part of prior to her death.

The team discusses the case and Callen later determines that the murdered lieutenant may have been smuggling classified documents and selling them off to a foreign buyer. The documents in question may seemingly have been surveillance briefs and that the foreign buyer may have been Chinese. They hint that because of the delicate and valuable nature of the documents, the Navy Lieutenant may have been killed for it.

"That would explain why she was killed," Hanna tells Callen as they continue to solve the mysterious murder. It remains to be seen who the killers are and if they will get captured.

In the last episode, Hanna, Callen, Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), and Kensi Blye (Daniela Rush) helped out the Secret Service to shut down a counterfeiting network. Hanna was able to arrest the dealer and neutralize all his henchmen despite the odds.

Meanwhile, Callen and his partner Anna Kolchek (Bar Paly) were able to locate the place where the counterfeit money was being produced and distributed. They managed to take down the guards and shut down the illegal money-making hideout.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 9 episode 3 will air on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
